This is from the book ARCHDIOCESE OF TUAM, bought in Cong by Kevin Fahey. The church in Kilvine is mentioned in the Helen Kelly letter stating that this was the parish of David Godfrey, grandfather of James Godfrey. St. Patrick's in Ballyhaunis is the major church in the area. The church in Bekan, St. Margaret, is where the Godfrey church records are held in the rectory, overseen by pastor Father Mcguiness. Both a typed edition and the original ledgers from the 1800's can be viewed.
